Who, or what, is Rumfluft Art?

My name is Ruth Matthews, born in Middlesbrough, raised Near Aberdeen, Scotland, and spent three decades in Norfolk. Recently North England is home as I kickstart my journey as a self-employed artist and illustrator. Let's peek into my story.

My passion for drawing, painting, and crafts led me to the Norwich School of Art & Design (now Norwich University of the Arts), where I tackled the Advanced Art & Design GNVQ, Foundation in Art & Design, and earned a Cultural Studies BA between the '90s and 2004. Fast forward to 2022, and I earned an MA in Illustration from Falmouth University. It wasn't just about the Masters; it was a compass to navigate the changing horizon.

Beyond the canvas, I'm fuelled by passions for astrology, spirituality, delving into the human psyche, exploring mythical stories, conducting research, and, of course, my love for animals!

"Rumfluft Art" is created from memories of my Dad calling my brother Bumfluff, and my initials RM. I like the connotation, a mix of my rum character, once the imagery is worked on by me, it's Fluft!

With my emerging artistic style blending traditional drawing methods with a digital touch, I provide visual solutions to your complex messaging.
